It was this experience that led Ms. Beverly, along with fellow lifetime ABLA resident and friend, Beatrice Jones, to conceive of the idea of a public housing museum more than a decade ago.

Promise of Education
Two years ago, Illinois signed history-making legislation to make preschool available for all 3- and 4-year-olds in the state. Today, a team of advocates, educators, parents, policymakers and others throughout Illinois have banded together to make this a reality.
