MONEY AND POLITICS: Boosting Census Results Around the Great Lakes
In addition to Illinois’ Count Me In—which is featured elsewhere in this issue of Work in Progress—the Joyce Foundation is also supporting efforts to boost 2010 census results in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
Employing public education, targeted grassroots and feet-on-the-ground organizing campaigns, these initiatives
seek to increase the mail-back response rates of hard-to-count communities.
The Joyce Foundation has awarded grants to League of Women Voters for
census related work in Wisconsin, Michigan Nonprofit Association for work
in Michigan and The Cleveland Foundation for work in Ohio.
