Joyce Award Recipient's Exhibit Opens May 1

The University Avenue Project will open May 1, 2010 and run through October 31 and will be visible both during the day and at night. It will be free and open to the public.

Wing Young Huie’s photographs will be exhibited in storefront windows and on the sides of buildings the length of University Avenue in Saint Paul, Minnesota between the city’s western boundary near Hwy. 280 to the State Capitol at John Ireland Boulevard. Photographs will be projected onto large outdoor screens every night (weather permitting). A complete list and map of venues, including the projection site, will be posted in January, 2010.

Live music will be performed at the projection site once each month, schedule and performers to be announced in May, 2010.

The University Avenue Project is presented by Public Art Saint Paul, with major support from a Joyce Award of the Joyce Foundation, facilitation of the City of Saint Paul and the University Avenue Business Association, and funding from The Saint Paul Foundation, Travelers Foundation, F. R. Bigelow Foundation, Huss Foundation, Hardenbergh Foundation, Mardag Foundation, and the Catherine B. Andersen Fund.
