The organizations listed below can provide valuable information on several issues — ranging from board development to fundraising to technical assistance — of interest to nonprofit organizations. NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

Forum of RAGS (Regional Associations of Grantmakers)
Forum of RAGS is a national network of local leaders and organizations across the United States that support effective charitable giving. Collectively, these regional associations represent more than 4,000 grantmakers and others interested in philanthropy.

The Foundation Center
The Foundation Center provides basic profiles of 65,000 private and community foundations and their funding interests.

National Council of Nonprofits (NCN)
The National Council of Nonprofits is a network of 38 state and regional associations of nonprofits representing more than 17,000 nonprofits throughout the country.

The Council of Michigan Foundations
The Council of Michigan Foundations is a nonprofit membership association of foundations and corporations making grants for charitable purposes.

Michigan League of Human Services
Michigan League of Human Services disseminates research and information concerning individuals and charitable organizations engaged in public or private welfare work.

Michigan Nonprofit Association
Michigan Nonprofit Association provides direct advocacy and services to local nonprofit organizations by hosting workshops on nonprofit management, legal issues, volunteer management, board development, and lobbying.

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits works to increase the capacity and effectiveness of nonprofits and the nonprofit sector through publications, workshops, and updates on management trends for the nonprofit sector.

The Minnesota Council on Foundations
The Minnesota Council on Foundations serves a membership of grantmakers by strengthening and increasing participation in organized philanthropy.

Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations
Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations provides leadership, education, and advocacy to enhance the ability of Ohio’s nonprofit organizations.

The Ohio Grantmakers Forum
The Ohio Grantmakers Forum is committed to public policy, building understanding between the grantmaking and grantseeking communities, and strengthening philanthropy.
