Joyce Award Information Session Schedule

February 4, 2013 10:27 AM

RSVP and meet with Angelique Power, who will answer questions about applying for a 2014 Joyce Award.

Since 2003, the Joyce Foundation has commissioned new works from artists of color in Chicago, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Detroit, Milwaukee and Minneapolis/St. Paul. In those 10 years, JoyceAward recipients have flourished both nationally and within their communities.

Angelique Power, Joyce Foundation’s Culture Senior Program Officer, will be hosting a series of information sessions in four cities to meet with interested artists, nonprofit leaders and grant seekers to talk more about the program, the application process and answer any questions. Lunch will be provided. Reserve a seat by contacting info@joycefdn.org no later than three business days prior to your city’s event.

In recognition of the fact that art is happening everywhere, all the time, the JoyceAwards support the commissioning of new works from diverse artists no matter where they choose to work—in the gallery, on the stage, in the church, the schoolyard, the prison, the community center.

Any nonprofit organization, not solely art institutions, can apply to commission work and create a project with an artist of color. Annually, a minimum of four awards of $50,000 each will be granted. Visit www.joycefdn.org/awards for more information about applying for a JoyceAward.
