Ellen Alberding Addresses the City Club of Chicago

3/13/2018

Overview

President Ellen Alberding of the Joyce Foundation recently spoke at the City Club of Chicago about the Foundation’s new grantmaking strategy to address emerging economic and demographic trends in the Great Lakes region. Those trends show a shift in population growth driven almost entirely by young people of color in a region that is becoming increasingly diverse.

As such, Joyce is focusing our investments on the future of the region by advancing racial equity and economic mobility for the next generation. The Foundation will continue to work on gun violence, education, the environment, culture, and democracy – but will now have a laser focus on how we can advance racial equity and economic mobility for young people of color.
