Chibuzo Ezeigbo Joins Foundation’s Education Team

We are delighted to announce that Chibuzo Ezeigbo, a Harvard Strategic Data Project fellow, is joining the Joyce Foundation to oversee the philanthropy’s grant making in college and career readiness.

Ezeigbo has extensive experience in the K-12 space. She comes to Joyce from the fellowship with Harvard University’s Center for Education Policy Research, where she worked with Chicago principals and teachers to analyze data and develop strategies to help students succeed.

Prior to that, she served as the senior research manager at the Poverty Lab at the University of Chicago overseeing the postsecondary education portfolio. She also worked at the Office of the Chicago Board of Education and Chicago Public Schools.

Ezeigbo will join the Education & Economic Mobility team on October 5, 2020. The team’s mission is to support policies aimed at increasing economic mobility for low-income young people and young people of color through equitable access to high-quality schools and jobs.

She will oversee a college and career readiness portfolio that seeks to align K-12, higher education and workforce systems; boost the number of early college credits students earn in high school; and spread high-quality, work-based learning opportunities.

She will partner with education Program Director Stephanie Banchero and Senior Program Officer Sameer Gadkaree.

Ezeigbo has a master’s degree in education policy and management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a bachelor’s degree in public policy studies from the University of Chicago.
