Joyce Promotes Culture and Democracy Program Officers

6/15/2015

The Joyce Foundation is pleased to announce that Angelique Power has been promoted to Program Director, Culture, and George Cheung has been promoted to Program Director, Democracy. Each served previously as Senior Program Officer.

“These promotions acknowledge the terrific work that Angelique and George are doing, and the strategic leadership they bring to their respective issue areas. We look forward to the continued progress of their programs,” said Foundation President Ellen Alberding.

The Culture Program grants $2 million annually to support a richly diverse array of arts organizations in Chicago around efforts to build capacity, create important work, and reflect the community from the board room to the stage. Additionally, the Culture Program hosts the annual Joyce Awards competition, which awards $50,000 to artists and nonprofit partners from around the Great Lakes to commission new, dynamic work.

The Democracy Program grants $3 million annually to support advocacy and public education on campaign finance, fair courts, election administration, electoral systems, and voting rights in the Great Lakes states.
