The Future of Leadership in Chicago’s Public Schools


Leadership by principals plays a major role in improving public schools in Chicago and other cities across the country. Conversely, principal turnover is an obstacle to sustaining success, in large part because teachers depend on the support of principals to help them succeed in the classroom. Joyce Foundation VP for Strategy and Programs Beth Swanson recently spoke at the City Club of Chicago about how foundations, universities, nonprofits, and others are helping put the city at the forefront of providing high-quality training to aspiring principals.
