Nonprofit Leaders Meet To Discuss Advocacy Strategies

The Joyce Foundation and the YMCA of the USA are hosting a luncheon on February 19 at the Foundation’s new offices to introduce Midwest nonprofit leaders to the Independent Sector, the leadership network for nonprofits, foundations, and corporate giving programs that collectively represents tens of thousands of organizations nationwide. Joyce Foundation President, Ellen S. Alberding, is a member of the board of directors of Independent Sector.
Diana Aviv, President and CEO of Independent Sector, will share findings from a groundbreaking study, Beyond the Cause: The Art and Science of Advocacy. Attendees will learn how this research could enhance their organization’s policy work and advocacy strategies. Based in Washington Aviv, will facilitate a discussion of what’s happening in the nation’s capitol that will affect the nonprofit community.
