Gun Violence Prevention Strategy: Supporting Law Enforcement

Goal: The Joyce Foundation supports efforts by police, prosecutors and attorneys to  ensure the effective enforcement of laws that can  combat gun crime and violence.

Theory of Change: Strict enforcement of existing gun laws is a critical part of reducing gun violence.  Law enforcement officers and prosecutors play  an important role in enforcing the law and  keeping communities safe.  Existing laws must be vigorously defended to provide police and prosecutors with the tools they need to do their jobs.

• Support research on effective law enforcement strategies to combat gun violence.
• Amplify law enforcement voices for policy reform.
• Support efforts to defend existing gun laws.
