Ala is the communications officer at the Joyce Foundation. She began working in the nonprofit sector about 10 years ago. Prior to joining the Foundation, she managed communications and marketing at the Citizen Advocacy Center. She studied at the College of DuPage with a concentration on Journalism. Ala believes that every community is strengthened by civic engagement, the essence of our democracy.
