Deborah Gillespie is the Joyce Foundation’s interim vice president of finance and administration, having returned to a role she previously held at Joyce for nearly 20 years.

Her oversight responsibilities include finance and accounting, compliance, human resources, information technology, facilities, and grants management.

Gillespie was the Foundation’s vice president of finance and administration from 2000 to 2019. Since retiring from that role, she has been a principal at the DGCB Group, serving as a consultant to executive leadership teams and rising executives, based on her more than 35 years in not-for-profit management. She also served part-time as director of finance and operations for A Better Chicago.

Gillespie serves on the boards of the Lumpkin Family Foundation and New Moms. She is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation, the Investment Committee of The Sentencing Project, and the Advisory Committee for Project Unloaded.
